James Maddison, a midfielder for Leicester City, has praised Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney, naming him as one of his favourites.
Maddison, 25, grew up supporting Manchester United. In the Derby County manager's new documentary, 'Rooney,' he showed his appreciation for Red Devils star Wayne Rooney. "He's one of my favourites, one of my favourites being a United supporter," Maddison said in an interview with Manchester Evening News, according to the Manchester Evening News. I was only a teenager at the time. Wayne Rooney, in my opinion, is the greatest Premier League player of all time. Maddison, 25, has been linked with Manchester United in the past, but there has been no serious interest from the Red Devils. Despite this, Maddison has been an important player for Brendan Rodgers' team, scoring 36 goals and providing 27 assists in 149 games for the Foxes.
Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's influence on Maddison is undeniable. Rooney's vision and technique on the ball are akin to that of the attacking midfielder, and his dead-ball credentials are similar to that of the Manchester United icon.
